From computer and technology training to financial education, Smart Serve, and Food Handlers certification, these programs are designed to empower community members with the tools they need to thrive.

As we come together this week, our program is digging deep into our rich Caribbean history. Explore the history, resistance, and legacy of the Maroons—brave freedom fighters who shaped Caribbean history and continue to inspire us today.

Internet Safety Session
Protect Yourself and Your Community: Internet Safety Session
Join WECA for an informative Internet Safety Session presented by an officer from Windsor Police Corporate Communications.
The presentation will focus on internet crimes, online scams and fraud, identity theft, senior-focused online traps, and practical ways to stay safe while using email, social media, and online banking.

Friday Food at the Caribbean Centre
Enjoy delicious Caribbean food every Friday at the Caribbean Centre in Windsor. Choose from favourites such as jerk chicken, curry goat, oxtail, red snapper, and beef soup—served with rice and peas and steamed cabbage.
Every Friday, 3:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m.
Come hungry and enjoy big flavours, good food, and a taste of the Caribbean. Everyone is welcome!

BSI Symposium 2026: Futuring Black Thriving
Save the Date: October 23–25, 2026
Where: Windsor Essex Caribbean Association
Join Black scholars, artists, students, activists, and community members for a three-day gathering celebrating Black life, resistance, creativity, and possibility. Futuring Black Thriving explores how we can imagine Black futures grounded in thriving—not simply surviving.
The symposium will feature talks, panels, performances, and a feature film, with guest speakers including acclaimed author M. NourbeSe Philip, Dr. Katherine McKittrick, and Dr. Robyn Maynard.
Symposium Kick-Off: Embodied Activism
Friday, October 23 at 6:00 p.m.
Begin the symposium with a powerful conversation on Black feminist thought, Black Canadian Studies, transnational activism, Black geographies, borders, policing, and plantation continuities.
The evening will also include a reception with music and food, plus a special performance by Jamaican-Canadian reggae legend Leroy Sibbles, OD.
